‘a wonderful photographic treasure’, The Times

This exhibition of remarkable photographs taken in the Antarctic by Herbert George Ponting and Frank Hurley marks the 100th anniversary of Captain Scott’s ill-fated journey to the South Pole.

Specially created for The Queen’s Gallery in London is the binaural experience ‘Being Hurley’, which immerses visitors in the sights and sounds of Shackleton’s expedition.

Christmas at Windsor

From 5 December the State Apartments at Windsor will be dressed for the festive season. There will be traditional Christmas trees in St George’s Hall and the Crimson Drawing Room, and the table in the State Dining Room will be laid for a Victorian feast.

The centrepiece of the display is a Christmas tree suspended from the ceiling of the Octagon Dining Room in a recreation of Queen Victoria’s festive celebrations.
